Pics of my Custom Ruger 10/22
Well, I got done refinishing the stock on my 10/22 and I did a few more things while I was doing it. The stock is a REAL Fajen "Silhouette" and is around 10yrs old and is called "Nutmeg", all normal black 10/22 components(trigger assembly, receiver) were taken apart(some parts done many years ago) and "Satin Polished", a trigger stop was installed in trigger guard to get rid of override, aftermarket hammer and sear installed for better trigger control, aftermarket magazine release, The color on the exterior of the "see thru" Weaver mounts was removed and "Satin Polished" to match as best to receiver, I also "Machined Burnished" the slide bolt mechanism if you look close. The Bull Barrel is a Butler Creek 20", the scope is a Bushnell 6-18x50. The pics will be covering from some of the parts/pieces to the assembled rifle. So, if you look at some of the parts mentioned above, you'll see the difference at the final stage.

Wow Del, that is awesome! How did you get it that color? What did you use for a clear coat?
Looks like all thats left is to add is a bipod. |

RE: Pics of my Custom Ruger 10/22
Thank You Gnepig.
The color is called "Nutmeg", and is a combination of blacks and browns and I don't think it's even available nowadays. It was bought long ago from the REAL Fajen factory that is now closed, but other Companies bought out the "Stock" making machines and Reinhart Fajen let's them use his name. The clear coat is gloss from a rattle can that my Wife had for some of her projects with wood. I've got a nice little 9" legged bipod in my gun safe waiting for the clearcoat to cure a little longer(couple weeks), then do a final sand with probably 1000 grit, then polished, then it will be attached. Wanted to get rifle together, so I wouldn't lose parts(only 1 screw and stock is detached). Del |

Thanks Alleydude---You're the Man!!!LOL When you get to be my age, you'll find that hunting/fishing and other things in life are more important for your sanity, than messing with computers. I guess it's one of those things that my Kids can say at my funeral, that I grew up in a time before there was computers or cellphones. Ha!
