XL7L - My New Hunting Rifle
I saw this rifle a few weeks ago at a local gun shop and fell in love. Today was the day. Home came this Marlin XL7L chambered for .270. Tomorrow I will pick up a Bushnell scope for it and some ammo, then it's off to the range. Can't wait to start killing some paper plates!
I will let you know how it comes out... But I've learned I can't take a decent photo of a gun to save my life! Ken Firearms Price Guide...For What It's Worth. Join Us On Facebook! Check Out Our Blog! |

RE: XL7L - My New Hunting Rifle
That's awesome... Can I ask how much you paid for it?
Looks like it's going to be a sweet shooter at long distance. |

RE: XL7L - My New Hunting Rifle
Sure, I paid $479 for it. I could have gotten a black synthetic stock version of the same gun for $319, but I am a sucker for a pretty gun. I've heard the argument that the deer don't know the difference, but the deer ain't paying for it. That, and if you figure the amount of time you're actually shooting the gun compared to the amount of time the gun is sitting on the wall in a gun rack, it might as well look good because it's just a wall orniment all of the rest of the time. I sure do like looking at it!

Got my scope, but daylight is running out to test fire it today. There is always tomorrow. Here are some pictures I took before the sun went down.
The scope is a Bushnell 3x9 x40. Ken Firearms Price Guide...For What It's Worth. Join Us On Facebook! Check Out Our Blog! |

Looks like you have nailed your photos this time. That thing is pretty, I think you have chosen wisely...
Also looks like you live in a great neighborhood |

We see deer and turkey cross the field below us all the time. Our property ends at the bottom of the hill, and if it weren't for the house off in the distance I would certainly be tempted to set up camp in the trees just off from the deck and pick me off a nice buck in the field. At one time we counted seven deer out in the field one evening just before dusk. Somewhere I have pictures. Ken Firearms Price Guide...For What It's Worth. Join Us On Facebook! Check Out Our Blog! |

Holy Sh!t Ken! I think I would have an agreement with my neighbors= if I can hunt them I would share them. (Not shooting at the house Of course!)

I wish I could get him to agree to move his house to the other side of the road, but he's pretty set on keeping it where it is.
