Favorite 22
I see no one has posted here yet, so I'll start. Whats your favorite 22 to shoot. Eveybody owns one, or several, and they are the least expensive to shoot often. I myself love my Henry Golden Boy, but I'm a lever gun fan. My wife loves her Ruger 10/22, and with 25 round mags. who wouldn't? My personal favorite is my Remington Sportmaster that my Dad gave me. He got it as a 16th birthday present in 1953. Its bolt action, tube fed and shoots shorts, longs and long rifles, and will drive tacks at 25 yards. He's gone now but the memories last forever. Let us know about your favorite.

As for 22's I am a bolt action fan. My Marlin 925 is a blast to shoot. If I were going semi-auto, then the Marlin Model 60 is a close second.

RE: Favorite 22
The only 22's I've ever owned is Ruger, and I still have the first one I ever bought back in 1971 for $49. I have some Ruger's that are stock and others that are full custom target.

RE: Favorite 22
My all time favorite would have to be the one I had as a kid. My uncle and I would shoot a couple of holes into a tree and then poke the empty shell caseings into the holes. We'd set up across the yard and shoot the ends of the cases. It was a sweet little rifle, I think it was a Marlin, it had a squarel carved into the stock and was a semi-auto...

Right now it would have to be my Model 60.

RE: Favorite 22
My all time favorite, for strictly sentimental reasons, is my old Remington, bolt action, single shot. Shorts, longs, long rifles. Pain in the butt, you open the breech, insert round, close the breech, then manually cock it. But, I can damned near drive tacks with it. As a kid in New Mexico I gained enough trust from my dad that I was allowed to go about a quarter mile into the desert behind our house, unsupervised, and murder a bunch of discarded cans and bottles. I was in the fifth grade at the time and never violated my dad's trust.
However, my Ruger 10/22, fiberglass stock, 25 round mags, and the laser barrel-band, is the most versatile and reliable .22 auto that I've ever found. I probably have five thousand rounds through it and never a jam or misfire, (sure, I keep it properly cleaned.) and while a .22 wouldn't be my choice for defense I wouldn't hesitate to use it in a tight spot.

RE: Favorite 22
Well, since this thread came up, I've acquired a couple more Rifles. I got a Savage AXIS in 22LR and a Marlin VRX in 17HMR.
Both the Savage and Marlin other than Stocks used, I would compare virtually the same. The tip of hat though goes to the Marlin in that it has the adjustable Trigger.
As to which is best, it will be the one I'm holding in my Hands at the time. I like them all.
Now with 22LR Ammo being scarce in many areas, I'm really liking the 17HMR which is plentiful in my area, with its potent punch and distance capability. I'm stocking up with 17HMR.

Welcome aboard Faiza. I don't get on here as much as I used to. That lil 22 you had is a Marlin 60 I believe. Marlin also made the Glenfield "store brands" too.
