Marlin Model 93
I just received a Marlin Model 93 30-30 from my father-in-law and I'm trying to determine age. Here is some info on the gun:
Serial Number: C2829 "Model 93" behind hammer. "Special Smokeless Steel" on barrel "The Marlin Firearms Corporation" on barrel. Any help on mfg date and approximate value would be appreciated |

Sure would like to see pictures of that old girl. As for the year, it would depend on whether that "C" is an uppercase or lower case "C" (or "c")... Lower case c = 1945 Upper case C = 1946 This, however, doesn't make sense because from what I understand, they stopped making the Model 93 (Model 1893) in 1935, but the book I have explains that factory records are incomplete for the Model 1893, so who knows. If the serial number things holds true, then the above is correct. No matter what the case, you have a grand old Marlin, and one I would love to see. Any chance for a picture or two?
