Marlin Firearms--CLOSING DOORS
I bring regretful news. While visiting another firearms site I frequent, I just learned some VERY SAD NEWS. The Marlin Firearms factory is closing it's doors in Conneticut. It's funny that just after a 2-alarm fire at the plant that it is decided to close the doors. All employees are losing their jobs. There is news of a possible relocation in another State--but when and where is still up in the air. Marlin is owned by Remington and Freedom Arms(?) so this decision isn't up to Marlin's family. I certainly hope they don't go across the "Pond" and wind up getting slanted gun sights.

Funny, I was just reading that on another forum too, but you beat me to posting it here.
I wonder where they are going to be moving to (as does everyone, it seems). Here's a link to more on the story: http://www.nhregister.com/articles/2010/...n_0326.txt Ken Firearms Price Guide...For What It's Worth. Join Us On Facebook! Check Out Our Blog! |

Well, here's the answer as to where they are going. Good news, I guess... Unless you worked at the CT plant.

RE: Marlin Firearms--CLOSING DOORS
I can see how it's goin to suck to be the workers at the CT plant, but remaining in business is cool. Ilion is the Remington factory location, sales must be slow for all of there products... It's this sucky economy.
Glad to see Marlin will stay in production tho. |
