Self-Defense Laws of All 50 States.

To be honest, I have written hundreds of product reviews throughout my “internet” career, though none in the gun related field, and only one book review that happened almost 20 year ago. When asked if I would be interested in doing a review of Self-Defense Laws of All 50 States I thought “Sure! How hard could this be?” Then the book arrived…

This isn’t your ordinary Ted Nugent Hoorah for Guns book. This is a text-book of sorts, a learning tool for anyone interested in just what the self defense laws in their particular States actually mean, and how they affect them. This is a massive, 576 page encyclopedia of legal knowledge carefully brought together by the authors so that everything you ever wanted to know is right here in one place.

Though the book at first looks intimidating, it is carefully laid out and explained by the authors so that those without a law degree can still understand it. It presents the laws as they are written, then explained in English so that there is no confusion. With the media going nuts over what rights individuals should have when defending themselves, and just when deadly force can be used in the eyes of the courts, this book is a shining light in the fog of misinforming and media opinion. These are the facts, take them or leave them at your own risk.

Self-Defense Laws of All 50 States.

I am sure we have all gone over scenarios in our heads about what we would do in any given situation. We have all considered what it would take for us to draw our weapon, just how much of a butt kicking we would withstand before we would consider deadly force, or when can we pull out the gun and threaten deadly force if someone threatens you or your loved ones with bodily harm. This book takes every state one-by-one and thoroughly explains every word of the law as it is written, making it easy to understand and abide by.

This is not a book you will probably read cover to cover like a Massad Ayoob book or any of the other case study books out there, but it is one you should own if you intend to walk among the masses carrying a game changing weapon on your person. You need to know what your individual States laws imply, and should the time come just what your rights are when you react. How you do react could make the difference in thousands of dollars in legal expenses, or even jail time.

Self-Defense Laws of All 50 States is one book that every gun owner who carries or keeps a gun at home for defense should own, and read. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, but it eases the mind to know you are within your rights when that time comes. As the old saying goes, “ignorance of the law is no excuse,” and with this book, ignorance of the law is no longer an issue.
